My blow back strain is not responding to Advil- I am thinking about moving on to either Celebrex or prednisone.
Any suggestions

Are you self medicating?

have you ever actually had at least an MRI to really see for certain just what are the bigger pain generators down there? this just could be much more in depth that mere back strain, espescially if this is a reoccuring issue. Marcia

You said "back dr" so you've been to a dr for your back before? So, did you recently strain it or are these two seperate issues?
I know physical therapy (and rest) is often a first choice of treatment for back strain. If that doesnt work, they do scans and dig deeper.
Because your legs, bowel, bladder, etc.. are all affiliated with your back, you should see someone. When nerves are involved, the damage is sometimes irreversible (you dont want that). I know insurance and such are issues with some ppl so if this is the case, let the dr know you are limited. They can usually refer you to programs or facilities that will treat you. They may even skip the physical therapy and give you information on lower lumbar exercise that could be done at home. I'd def see a Dr if its not getting better.
