jose,
Thats a Tough ??, some people can have herpes and never know they have it? Would you like to give more details? there are some people who never find out they have herpes til they have an OB (outbreak) each person is different and so is the way the virus reacts in the system. Symptoms usually include, fever, headache, fatigue, swelling glands in the genital area mostly, blisters with a clear liquid, burning and serve itching. symptoms vary depending on each person in duration and severity. for most people the first OB is the worst and they get less as time goes on. There are a couple of Medications on the Market to help with the OB and the symptoms. If you are concerned consult your doctor and get tested. Wishing you the Best.

I agree with Coping.. when you goto the doctors as for an IgG type specific herpes test.. this will let you know which type you have, but if you think its a new infection it may not show up which in turn means you should be retested in 3-4 months giving your body enough time to build up the antibodies to be detected if in fact you do have HSV
