I am back to work this week and next week I have to complete a back to work interview. One of the questions will be if my time off was as a result of any injury occasioned when at work. My job involves computer work and also spares handling which involves a reasonable amount of lifting boxes of equipment etc.
The consultant mentioned that my disc had degenerated so I am unsure if the work that I did contributed to or exacerabated the herniation. I could say I don't know but I am worried that they may conclude that I am not fit to do the job. Does anyone else feel their work contributed to a herniation/cord compression that happened over a long period of time, in my case 2 years?

I know mine did without a doubt, but I did alot of physical work including lifting people at times. I dont want to risk it again so will do my best to avoid any work where there may be alot of lifting involved. Its not worth it. Then you have to consider that once one disc goes others can follow. Be careful & god bless. Sammy
