I'm a 44 yr.female,have Hemachromatosis,HCV&cirrhosis.
Have been alcohol&drug free(excluding methadone),for 2 1/2 yrs..Recent CT scan showed no tumors,but spleen is very enlarged.Can't recall the count,RBC's,WBC's & platelets are definitely below normal range.Bilirubin level is up to 5 and serum ferritin is 230.I've been advised to get evaluation for liver transplant.What criteria or stage of physical impairment warrants a transplant?Should I still get phlebotomies for iron reduction ?
