Please let me know if these symptoms point to liver problems at all....
Itching

It sounds like you need to get checked for celiacs disease (I have it) and have had those symptoms. Also, get some blood work and have them check for anemia, thyroid dysfunction, liver enzymes.

Thanks for your reply. I have been checked for anemia, thyroid, liver, Lupus, etc. Everything comes out perfect on paper. Where can I learn more about Celiac? Any specific books or web sites that are better than others? I'm a HUGE carb fanatic...but this has been going on for a year and I just cant go to another Dr since I've been checked for just about everything. What kind of test would diagnose Celiac? Much thanks!

Hi, I had a blood test and then a GI scope. Do you have any digestive problems? They found that my vili in my intestines were flat...which they then said I had celiacs disease. Ask your doctor for the blood test to check for the antibodies for celiacs and then if they are positive, you may need a scope, or they may put you on a gluten free diet..which has to be a life-time and 100%.

Hi there Marisa...those symptoms CAN be from liver disease. Here is a list of symptoms that can often appear:
jaundice
fluid collection in the belly (ascites)
white nails (leukonychia)
red palms
spider nevi (dilated capillaries on your chest which turn white and then red again when you press them)
loss of the male hair pattern if you're a man
slight breast enlargement in females, or breast development period in males
confusion (in later stages)
itching
raising of the capillaries in other areas of the body (telengectasia..the same)
hemorrhoids
black, tarry stools
vomiting blood (often in large quantities)
