I've been having some horrible issues lately with sleeping and it's getting dangerous
It doesn't matter how long or how much I try to sleep I will nearly immediately be tired still like I haven't slept. Even if I just spend 8 hours in bed.
Here lately my sleeping itself is heavily disturbed. I will constantly wake up over and over in teh course of sleep, finding myself waking up in a sitting up position or even falling off the bed, like my body is amost trying to sleep walk but is unbalanced. I now wake up in puddles of drool and this is something I never used to do just a year ago. I'm also waking up with a headache every morning as well.
During the day, like I said I feel sleepy, and at incredibly inappropriate and dangerious times even with every fiber of my being trying to stop it I will pass out for a few seconds... but this isn't like an ordinary pass out. I immediately enter a "dreaming" state. This is happening quite frequently especially when I'm trying to drive. I've even had occasions where I'll start to pass out while driving and go into a dream where I think I'm still driving fine... only to be startled awake by hitting the alert bumps on the side of the road.
I was just in an accident 2 weeks ago where this happened and I drifted into the oncoming lane and sideswiped a passing vehicle. doing massive body damage to his car and door and completely disaabling my car. Yet I can't control it. I'll start feeling sleepy and I'll try everything from downing a red bull to slapping myself awake, to rolling down the windows or blasting music but nothing helps and I can't stop it. But I'm also having to work so I can't just stop and take a nap I have a job I have to do and I have to keep going or get fired.
I get home from work and got to spend my evening relaxing and I'll pass out sitting up in my chair (sometimes I'll be sitting forward even, without my back up against anything and I'll still fall asleep)
This has to stop. It's dangerous and quite intrusive on my life. I can't stop driving because my job requires travel every day, I'm tired of being tired, I'm tired of having my evenings and free time ruined because my body just wants to keep shutting down and i"m definitely tired of my real sleeping time being useless and frustrating experience.

Welcome to the boards, Malchiah!
Your condition is serious and is life threatening...have you been to see your primary doctor? If so, what did s/he say?

Darling are you on WELLBUTRiN BY CHANCE? Or another SSRI that makes you have interrupted sleep cycles at night and feel high and sleepy in the daytime? THIS was to a lessor degree my actual experience too.
