For the last few weeks, I have had a weird feeling in my chest, almost like i am inhaling shorter breaths and exhale faster than normal. I also have a soreness mostly in the center of my chest, feels like a strained muscle or something, have a temperature every afternoon 99.5-100, and generally feel 'off balence' when i walk around. I had a chest xray that came back normal. Any idea what might be causing this? http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif Thanks

Several things could be affecting this. What is your overall health?

Where do you live? I have had similar problems in the past but seem to have passed them. I had them mostly when I was growing up. I believe they may be linked to the quality of air. Are you exposed to chemicals, smoke, pollution? you may want to research the role of glutathione in relation to protecting the lungs. The best source of information is Dr. Gutman's book at http://www.drglutathione.com glad to help.

Remember this. The pain is real your body is trying to say something. The doctor couldn't find anything visible. But there is an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. The doctor is looking for a problem. He did well. The difficulty is that yours may only be minor so you must seek out a cause. It is very unlikely phycosomatic. I do this by trial and error. See if changing environment, diet, etc. affects the condition this gives you clues. the fact that it is in the center suggests more likely muscle or heart again minor. the fact of a temperature suggests and infection. Keep looking for clues but don't dwell on it. Do you notice the fever after certain types of activity? tfnm@perth.net

Ive had an upper GI, abdominal Ultrasound, Chest Xray and an EEG and all blood work. Everything was normal. No infection shown in the blood either. I refuse to believe that this is anxiety related due to the way it feels and the changing temperature. I do have a prolapsed valve, and the doc said the slight pain could be due to that...I dont know what to think.
