Does anyone have experience with Dr. David Dr. Perlmutter? He is an alternative MD specializing in Parkinson's; so far I have had two phone consults and am very impressed with his brain power and advice.

Thanks to him, I am having a number of tests not prescribed by my local neurologist, a terrific but very conservative doctor. (3 of the tests are illegal in NY state where I live and I am having to go out of state for them.)

Turns out some of my symptoms (achiness, fatigue) are at least partly due to previously undiagnosed Lyme disease. Dr. Perlmutter recommended a consult with Dr. Sam Donta in Boston. Having seen him yet but, based on technical article by him I found on the web, I am switching from 3 months of Doxy to Tetracycline for the Lyme.

My PD is limited to tremors which interfere primarily with speed typing and drawing and painting -- important as writing and art are my primary occupations. I am managing so far on mirapex (had bad reaction to Azilect) but the tremors while reduced are still there. Considering switching to Adamantine based on a comment by Dr. Perlmutter.

I take NADH for energy & believe it has been a life-saver, as I seldom suffer from overwhelming fatigue. A week go I started Dr. Perlmutter's NeuroActives Brain Sustain; feel fantastic ---- very sharp and full of more energy than I've ever had, even before PD. Hope this is not a placebo effect.

Am considering glutathione shots & wondering when to start them. Dr. Perlmutter is convinced glutathione slows the progress of PD. Although we have a local doctor here in Dutchess County (Dr. Steven Bock) who would do these shots, to save money my daughter and husband will learn how to do the injections.

Any comments would be much appreciated. Yes, I know all of this stuff costs a fortune. The poor man's route would be good to know!
