In Jan1999 I had a nice accident, had multiple fracture and developed ARDS. I was ventilated for 10 Days and after next 15 days, I developed trachael stenosis. the Trachea callopsed from where the ballon was put during ventilation. I was having Montgomery tube(MG TUBE) for trachael wall support.
Now, Recently, I have got a wire mesh implanted in the trachea.
1) Can anyone suggest the lifetime effects of the wire mesh?
2) Can anyone tell me if there are any adverse after effects of ARDS?

-breathing problems
-muscle loss
-memory problems
-depression
These are some of my after effects of ARDS-I am in pretty good shape considering though.
