do me a favor christy find the spot on your throat that is dry which ever side and try pushing on it see if it moves with or against your throat.
Mine is right side on the top of my thyroid cartilage and it clicks and grinds also could you answer these questions.
Have you ever had trauma to your skull neck or ears?
Is the feeling more pronounced when you lie on your back for some time?
Do you have earaches which seem to be mostly one sided?
Do you have an musculer pain in your neck or chest?
Because if its just dryness you have 2 sacks of blood vessels in your nose and one may have become enlarged.
If you can answer these questions I might be able to help as I have suffered what you describe now for about 20 years and ive tried everthing to find out and even though ive gone to the docters complaining of throat pain, dryness and breathing problem since I was born ive never had any swallow tests any physical examination of inside my throat and im going to demand them at my next doc apointment monday! hope this helps and I hope you reply so I can see if I can help some more.

I FEEL FOR YOU ALABAMA. I WOULD LOVE FOR YOU TO REPLY AGAIN. I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE ELSE THAT ALSO HAVE MY WIERD SYMPTOMS. DO YOU HAVE LOW GRADE FEVERS FREQUENTLY? I ALSO HAVE EAR ACHES FREQUENTLY! Hi christy im glad youve replied a good place to start and it was for me I learned more from this site in 5 minutes than I have on the net for 5 years heres the URL WWW.VOICEDOCTOR.NET/INDEX.HTML (http://WWW.VOICEDOCTOR.NET/INDEX.HTML) My problem is probably caused by trauma yet I have the constant dry horrific feeling 24 seven and I dont feel comftable if I dont have a drink perched beside me!
ill give you my basic symptom readout
Possible causes
Ingestion of wart remover at the age of 1 “documented in medical notes”
Strangulation between the ages of 7 – 11 “not documented”
Aerosol abuse age 16 experiment, once or twice “not documented”

Symptoms
1 – 8 years:
Constant infections.
Difficulty sleeping.

8 – 16 years:
Constant infections.
Hunger for air.
Lack of concentration.
Earaches and loss of hearing.
Dry throat.
Difficulty sleeping.

Tonsils removed after going septic, once removed leaked out the infection from the dead tissue and my throat turn white which left me awake and without food for 2 days and nights

17 – 20 years:
Hunger for air.
Body went into shock “documented ambulance call out.”
Panic attacks.
General anxiety “constant”
Lack of concentration.
Short-term memory loss.
Earaches and loss of hearing.
Visual disturbances.
Lack of balance towards right side.
Muscle twitches.
Right sided facial atrophy.
Swelling on right side of thyroid cartilage “moves against throat and not with, feels hard, painful and it grinds and clicks”. Accompanied with a constant awareness of the feeling, which get worse when I lay down.
Muscle pain.
Dry throat.
Extreme difficulty sleeping.

Notes:
I don’t breath normally anymore as it sound raspy and sometimes high pitched I have to breath as if I was sucking through a straw by constricting the muscles in my mouth and throat
I sing sometimes and noticed it sounds like no air is coming out with my voice and it pops and twangs sometimes always followed by pain. I then found the spot that hurt and began to massage the muscles and found the hard spot by the throat cartilage and tried massaging that.
I have made it better and worse I think as now sometimes I can find the right spot to rub and I can breath more easily but when it return it seems worse!
I know there’s something wrong as I woke up one morning and found I could breath without even putting in the effort I felt my throat to see if it felt different but it popped and my breathing returned to normal.

I would like to be tested for:
Trauma of the thyroid cartilage
Swallow test
X-ray swallow test with barium
Laryngoscopy
Blood test for hyper and hypothyroid
Keep in touch im taking this to my GP on monday and ill let you know how i goes ICQ60434781 Email alabamawhirly@lineone.net hope this helps
