Hi!

I had my gallbladder removed for its thickened wall, just over 2 years ago. It was by far the best thing i ever did! However, small problems are starting to crop up. Over this time i have noticed my bm's are loose on occasion. More so after a night out on the tiles!

I have trouble getting my functions back to normal for 2/3 days after a night out. Is there anything you guys take for this? Would i be ok to take a 'stop diarrhoea' tablet the following day upon symptoms, or would you let it run it's course?

Normally i just let my body recover in it's own time, but i also wonder about any lasting damage i may be doing to my bowel etc?

I only go out for a drink once/twice a month and never touch a drop inbetween.

Please feel free to share your stories post gallbladder removal.

This is something i have no desire to speak to my GP about, as they were extremely unhelpful with the actual diagnosis of my gallbladder, resulting in having to go to private healthcare. I don't have much faith left in them!

Many thanks.

Alcohol consumption should have nothing to do with the function of the gallbladder or the duct remaining after removal. They only act on the fat that is ingested. That being said, perhaps you are drinking things that have cream or ice cream in them? Or perhaps it's the pub food that you eat on these occasions?
