Im a 40 year old vegan and personal trainer. I am very active and have no health issues. Four months ago my cholesterol was 150. Now it is 180. If anything my diet is better than it was four months ago. How could it possibly have risen thirty points?

But did HDL, LDL, or VLDL get higher? If just HDL got higher, that is generally considered a good thing.

What changed in your diet?

Did anything else change, like amount of exercise or body fat percentage?

I have heard that stress can make it rise. I know I had to go to a company meeting in another state and hadn't had much sleep and they did a cholesterol check done on us and mine was higher than it normally runs. Were you stress or not rested?
