This is my first post here. It is about my mother.
She is 56 years old. Three years ago diagnosed with lupus.

Two months ago RUQ pain started. She went to see her GP.
He ordered US of her gallblader and liver, and liver blood test.
US results: gallblader OK, but 8 cm liver tumor discovered (upper right lobe).
Liver blood test: all normal.
GP ordered CT scan with and without contrast.
CT results: inconclusive for liver tumor, but everything alse in her abdomen looks good.
MRI was ordered.
MRI results: inconclusive.
She went to see GASTRO type of doctor at Yale Hospital, and he ordered nuclear taged red blood cell test, results: it is not hemangioma.
Now, she is waiting for liver biopsy (4/9/09).
Her liver is healthy, except the tumor. No history of cancer, or any liver disorders.
Doctor will not tell us anything.
At last appt., her gastro said: "We have no clue what this tumor is."
Is there anyone who can tell us what this could be...PLEASE HELP, WE ARE SO WORRIED

Thanks

Hello: I read your information and am very interested in your mother's case. I
am a 63 yr.old WF (non-drinker, non-smoker) and have been diagnosed with
Sjogren's Syndrome. This is an auto-immune disease which, in some people,
attacks the bile ducts, blood vessels, etc. My ALT and AST are elevated but
the most worrisome is my iron level is 471. (I won't have a biopsy for another
month) They are also checking for hemochromatosis (genetic). I do have RA
and also psoriasis. Please keep the "board" up on your mother's progress.
