Hi all,

I'm in my high school's spring musical (Aida), and at rehearsal last night, I did something to my hamstring or knee. It was sometime during a song in which I dance some then quickly move back on the stage and kneel. Anyway, this happened, I felt a pop or something, and then felt pain. It wasn't too bad at first so I didn't worry about it. Time went on. After the next song in which I had to go up and down the stairs on the set, I was in so much pain I started crying. I got ice and an Ace wrap, and called my parents to come pick me up and bring me to urgent care.

At urgent care, they took x-rays and said that they looked pretty normal except a line on one of them, but since it was only on one they thought it was the film. They also examined me, and said that thought it was just a hamstring strain but since they weren't sure, they put me in a knee immobilizer and told me to use crutches and see the sports doctor today.

While it would be great if it were just a hamstring strain, I kind of doubt that it is. It hurts too much to just be a strain, and my knee itself hurts a lot.

My appointment with the sports doc is this afternoon...But what do you all think?

Thanks!

Doctor said strain.

Knee brace, crutches as needed...Able to perform parts of the show but not all.

Knee strain right? If your knee hurt really bad I wouldn't think the primary injury would be the hamstring (though you certainly could have hurt or strained both)

He said both.
