After taking bio-identicals do you go through withdrawal? 1 of my doctors said that if i take bio-idenicals because the last time i had my period was 5yrs ago,and said i'm almost over menopause,and you can only take the bio's for 2yrs,and that when u stop taking them you can go through menopause again is this true? some one help me please!!!

Hi,

From all the books and articles I have read on menopause and bioidenticals...you can stay on them as long as you want. It's all about keeping your hormones balanced. If you do go off the bio-identicals you will probably experience menopausal symptoms again because you are taking away the hormones that your body needs to stay balanced.

Maybe your doctor was taking about HRT which is the synthetic hormones that most of them prescribe.
