It was just discovered at 26 weeks that I have a 15 cm hemangioma on my liver - I think it goes across the right and left sides and someone mentioned it was on the opposite side of the baby. It was discovered during a CT scan because I was having trouble breathing but other than feeling pretty fatigued this pregnancy and not feeling great, I don't think I've had any other symptoms except that I feel much more lousy than I did with my first child 4 years ago.
My biggest fear is spontaneous rupture or a rupture from just going about my daily activities and then getting in a fender bender or being kicked, etc. I was told the chance of spontaneous rupture isn't great but it still makes me very nervous. I've seen a gastroenterologist this week who is going to run another u/s next week to make sure its not growing.
Has anyone else been pregnant with such a large hemangioma or have any advise or thoughts? I've also switched to a high risk OB. If I need surgery afterwards, I will go to either Yale or Columbia as I live equal distance from both. How worried should I be? Do you think I should have a c-section before I'm full term?
