No one here can really answer that. It could be any number of things. The only way to know for sure is to get your hormones checked.

xoxo,

Welcome to the boards!

There's lots of reasons why people are tired or get tired...I had lab tests done by my ob gyn for fatigue every year for 5 years and those tests didn't identify my sleep problem(s). Finally, I did some research on my own, went to my obgyn and asked for a referral to see a sleep specialist....it took 6 months to get into see the first specialist, another 2 months to get into to see the second specialist (I don't believe in relying on only one opinion), and they basically told me the same thing...they suspected I had one or more sleeping disorders based on my medical history of gradual weight gain, acid reflux, and getting up to pee one or more times during the night. Based on my answers to a 9-13 page lifestyle/health questionaire, and a physical exam of my lungs, ears, nose, and throat, they prescribed a sleep study which revealed that I had not one, but 2 sleeping disorders...which were both treated without meds.

I am now sleeping through the night refreshed and med free.

The majoritiy of docs don't have any education (well, I've read that the "lucky" ones get 20 minutes worth) in sleep medicine....that's why it is so very important to do some research on your own.

PS A change in hormones can result in less elasticity in the tissues...and this in turn can be one cause of obstrutive sleep apnea (there are many other causes for this condition).

You should also have your thyroid & adrenal glands checked. I'm currently reading Suzanne Somer's book "Breakthrough". She has a lot of advice and interviews with docs about the bioidentical hormones. They're not for everyone but hormones could be a problem here. Get things checked before you really run yourself down.

xoxoxojuju- When I had my saliva hormone panel done, my cortisol was high, and the report said that can contribute to adrenal fatique. I am on DHEA 10 mg daily and not as tired. DHEA is suppose to level the cortisol, dhea and testosterone.
We'll see
