I posted a couple of months ago. My scope showed mild reflux and slight irratation to my esophoagus.....I think it was all caused from stress. Anyway dr. told me to stay on prilisec for 6 weeks. I stopped taking it yesterday. What happens if the heartburn and pain come back. can i start taking it again? Or is this "cured" and am I off the meds for good? That would be wonderful?? any comments. thanks bride527

Sometimes there is "rebound" pain when you go off the prilosec, that usually shows up within a day of you missing a dose.

If you are feeling fine now, you're probably okay without it, though obviously your symptoms might reoccur someday.
