I have begun having recurrent problems with my sinuses and lungs. It all started around the time a "moldy" smell started in our building at work. In the beginning I was diagnosed with GERD, esophagitis, and inflamation of the muscles over my vocal cords. Now, everytime I walk in the building I get severe allergy symptoms and have started having asthma attacks over the last week which I haven't had in years. I have a pain in my right lung but the doctor said that I only have one spot she thinks is a granuloma (which she never explained). I have a severe cough and am not sleeping at night. I was coughing up small brown specs but that seems to have quit and I just have alot of yellow mucous. I am seeing the company doctor, and they refuse to test me for any of the mold related disorders. Does anyone have any advice?

Of course your company doctor is refusing to test you -- ... sounds to me like the company knows exactly what's going on and is afraid of getting sued.

I guess see if your GP will test you for mould-related disorders, and get referred for lung function tests to see about any permanent damage, and start looking for a new job.

Companies that don't consider the health of their employees will end up getting shot in the foot -- healthy employees ultimately means more money for the company, because they have less overtime and sick-time and etcetera etcetera to pay.
