veggiegirl75 03-10-2003, 04:06 PM I just had a complete lung function test today, and they told me it would take 2 to 3 weeks for the results. Is this normal? Sponsor kimmmi 03-11-2003, 07:40 PM I have never heard of it. I have had the simple type of test with just the machine and the thing you blow in, and the better one where you go into the booth and do the test. Both types the computer or machine was right there spitting out the numbers. wrin 03-11-2003, 10:27 PM Depends on the test, I imagine -- I can't think specifically off the top of my head for a particular pulmonary function test that would require you to wait weeks for the results unless they did some kind of high-end scan and had to send the film away to be developed. Do you know what kind of tests they did? "Complete pulmonary function" is kind of a heading that includes a mish-mash of various tests, from a peak flow test to a V/Q scan. veggiegirl75 03-13-2003, 09:03 AM Wrin, That is exactly what it was. I sat in a little booth and had to use the mouthpeice to perform various functions. wrin 03-14-2003, 07:11 PM It's possible they have to print results and send them to your doctor and your doctor will talk to you about them. IE, your doctor will get the results whenever they feel like sending them. |
