Hello: Extra-strength Tylenol has been connected to an epidemic of elevated liver enzymes. There can be a connection to auto-immune diseases such
as lupus, Sjogren's syndrome, auto-immune hepatitis, hemochromatosis.
You might try internet searches with National Institutes of Health, webMD,
medline, medicine.net, etc.
Hope this helps some. (I am battling elevated enzyme levels myself and
also high iron levels.)

I have recent blood test showing Ferritin 1441 ng/mL, ALT and AST elevated, ALP normal, MCV 103 (a little large, always had this), transferrin %sat 90%, Iron 269 (high!), TIBC 299 (normal), could be hemochromatosis...but then is the only treatment having blood taken out?

I just had blood work done to check my cholesterol and liver functions. My AST was 228 and ALT 63, bilirubin, direct 0.96. My cholesterol was 302. triglycerides 171 , LDL 199. It:confused: was indicated the the specimenh was hemolyzed and that the results could be affected. My cholesterol has never been this high, my triglycerides have never been high at all. In the last month I have had 6 shots because I'm going out of the country (Hep. A. yellow fever, thyphoid fever, polio, etc.) My liver enzymes were slightly elevated in April and 3 years ago they were slightly elevated, went to GI doctor, had multiple blood test, liver biopsy and eveything was ok. Could these shots and the hemolyzed specimen cause these high levels. I'm suppose to start taking medicine for malaria prevention this next week.
