Hi I am a 31 yr old female and I was told i had severe brochitis 2 weeks ago and was put on biaxin xl antibiotics. Well after a week i wasn't any better so doc wanted to see me. He said that antibiotics aren't working and sent me for a cxr. Well the xr showed some nodules and the recommendation was for CT followup as they appeared to be either sarcoidosis, lymphoma or matastatic disease. Has anyone had this prediagnosis b4? I get CT done tomaroow with a follow up with a pulmononlogist on april 17th. If they feel it is lymphoma or something real bad like that would they contact me b4 my visit with pulmonologist? Sorry this is so long but hubby and I are worried. Please any ifo would be much appreciated http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif

I have had the same pre-diagnosis given to me. I had to go in for a CT Scan. They did not call me in early, but when I went to doc, they wanted to do a biopsy. Long story short, I have Sarcoidosis.
Hope all will be ok with you.

The biopsy method will depend upon where these growths are. The surgeon will explain it to you. It's fairly invasive. There are several kinds of biopsies done several ways. Go to a search engine such as google and do a search for lung cancer biopsies. All possible methods will be explained. Your surgeon will tell you which he/she thinks is best. You might also ask for a second opinion and ask that a cancer radiologist specialist read your scan results and if they prescribe more scans, such as with contrast, ask that the same specialist read the second scan, etc.
Good luck to you.
