I fyou've tried any of the stop smooking aids
& still haven't been able to stop, I suggest you take a look at what the lungs of individuals with Lung Cancer & emphysemia look like. That will definitely give you a jolt.
Also, even thpugh I stopped smoking, I was diagnosed with Emphysemia 7 years after quitting.

Think about it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was a smoker before I went through ARDS and I had to quite after that for it would have killed me to keep on doing it. It is so much better without it-and money wise I am so glad I quite-I believe that if you are ready to do it you will find a way-the more you smoke the more likely you will to get something serious. bj2bandit are you upset that you quite now? Don't you ever think that you would be sicker now if you would have kept smoking or got sicker sooner?
God Bless to both of you.

I recently had a collapse lung. It had nothing to do with smoking, it was a spontanous pneumo thorax. Being in hospital with a test tube for three days, I was unable to smoke. When I came out I still wasn't feeling well so I didn't smoke. Now it is almost two weeks and I had only half a cigarette and I didn't like it at all. The fact that your fingers smell and I don't feel good after. I feel like smoking, but whenever I see a cigarette I am disgusted. It took a collapsed lung, but I finally did it. (Yes) Wish everyone good luck, and I know it is hard.

BJ2Bandit:

My boyfriend was just diagnosed with emphysema and is trying Zyban for the first time. His PFT's were at the moderately severe range. Any idea what yours were and what we can expect. thanks Elaine

Damn, I quit smoking for about two weeks when i had a chest tube. Then I told myself that I will smoke occasionally but I will not buy a pack. Now I bought my second pack. The only good news is that it has lasted me for 4 days now. I would quit, but seeing all the people smoking around and I didn't really have cravings but it felt weird, so i began to borrowing a smoke here and there. I am 19 and I know i shouldn't be giving any advice but i am going to give it anyways. If you have not started smoking PPPPPLLLLEEEEAAAAASSSSSSEEEEEe don't start. It is hard to quit and trust me , you will want to quit.

Have you tried to use the patch? Or go cold turkey-think about how it felt to have your lung collapsed and maybe that will do it.
God Bless.
