why are they using antidepressants medications totreat fibromyaligia

Antidepressants are used twofold, they block the same neurotransmitters in our brain that signal pain, and after having fibro for a good while you do get depressed there are days when even my hair hurts! My lifestyle has changed all around. Can be frustrating. Not all who have fibro take AD They work for me, I am also depressed though heh
I am sure there are some who can more eloquently describe it but this might help a big

I suffer from major depression--it was first before Fibro
most of the older AD help with pain, and I was on them at different times so I feel that is what kept me from having this much sooner.
And they have just come out with a new drug (there is a thread on it)
that is an AD med just for Fibro
a lot of drugs are used off label, just like meds used to treat Parkinson's are also used for Fibro
