Hello all. :)
Just a quick question, maybe someone went through the same thing I'm going through and it can ease my thoughts somewhat.
I have high BP, but of the past year have had some upper chest pains. Mainly around the heart or at times it has felt it has moved to the center of my chest. When the pain occurs, it does normally hurt worse with deeper breaths I take. I have been the the ER and they said it was nothing to worry about.
My DR. had a 2 EKG's and a stress done on me to determine it's not my heart. I've been put on Zanax because the pain has caused anxiety somewhat and I have had a couple panic attacks in the recent year.
Has anyone ever had these pains around the heart? I've been told everything like it could be a GERD... or some lung infection, or some inner wall damage in my chest area.
The pain can hurt bad at times and actually reach all the away around to my back (shoulder blade area).
Is this a heart problem? Should I quit worrying about it? Or try to keep pushing my doctor to get more test done?

I am 51 and have had this exact thing my whole life. It hurts really bad to breath but
usually doesn't last long. If you have had tests done I would stop worrying about it.
I also have had alot of different tests done that found nothing.

Thanks for the response. I have been told by mom that she has lived with the same type of pain her whole life too.
I've always been a worry wart (why i'm on Zanax)... so the pains have my brain racing at times thinking the worse.
But, thanks for the response.... it makes me think positive.

Im 18 and have a problem with constant chest pains. the pains do move around a lot and sometimes my whole chest hurts up into my neck, but mostly around the middle and left side of the chest. My doctor is worried about a heart disease and ive had some tests done but many more on the way. i just posted something on this site about the problems ive been having if you want to read it it's called "heart disease or what??", i go more into detail. well, who knows what is going on with you but the pains you have explained in this blog, i have too and i know how worrysome it can be. I sometimes just go spend the night in the parking lot of the hospital, just in case, because the pain is so bad, you know. Anyway, im sorry for you and hope you will find answers soon (:
