View Full Version : Lung damage from a fire

Hello, I'm new here, glad to find this board. In 1994 I was trapped in a burning building, and burned 57% of my body. (mostly 3rd degree) Spent two months in a coma and over a year in the hospital. The smoke inhalation gave me brochiestasis (sp?) A recent chest x-ray showed a lower leung nodule. I'm pretty confident it's from the bronchiestasis (sp?) but cancer cannot be ruled out. I'll see my pulmonolgist on Thursday (5-8) and have a CT scan done on the 22nd. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous..of course I am, though I am still confident of a positive outcome. (Hey, what can they do to us that's worse then what we've already been through, right?)

Good luck and best wishes to everyone here.

Welcome!
The spelling you're looking for is 'bronchiectasis'.

Thanks wrin..quit the spelling demon that word :0

Kind of odd, in a way I guess, no burns topic on this board.

Nice to see a place where people care and can relate to problems others might have.
