For the past ten years I have had palpitations, very mild, and then have never gotten any worse then when they started 10 years ago. This started when I was 19. Typically my heart will feel like it will skip one beat and then resume at a normal rate. It never races or slows down, just picks up where it left off. I have seen a doc on several occasions to be put through a complete physical and told that I am ok. My last visit I was told that it is due to the stress in my life, and acid reflux causing my vagal nerve to be sensetive. They have tried to get my heart to replicate the "missed beat" without any success. Typically this happens around mid cycle for me when my hormones have peaked, and will last for a couple of months at times. My heart typically skips no more then 15-20 beats per day. It seems as though after I get the skipped beat feeling that my stomach growls and I tend to pass gas or burp, which releaves it. I have never experienced any in a row. Does anyone else get this?

I am typically able to shrug this off and then on occasions such as this I worry about it. I know that I am fine, but need to know that there are other people who have experienced this. My doctor has reassured me that this is nothing life threatening and that this type of palpitation is normal.
