Hi, I am a very active 21 year old male. For the last 6 months, I get a pain in my upper left chest area in the middle of the night particularly if I take a deep breath or stretch funnily. I have no pain during the day. It's only at night and right when I wake up. Like I said the pain occurs when I breath in deeply or move a certain way. Usually within 2 minutes of getting up out of bed everything is fine.

Is this something to worry about, or just something benign like a muscle that becomes irritated from sleeping?

I'll bet it's just from you sleeping funny but visiting the doctor and telling him about it is never a bad idea.

Th thing that makes me not think it is lung is that also in the morning if I move a certain way I get the same pain. I have had the pain for about a year now. 5 minutes after I get up and out of bed the pain goes almost completely away.
