I had a head injury caused by my ex boyfriend in 1989. He hit me and I fell back and hit the ground, knocking me unconscious. After I recovered from that I didn't have any really bad headaches until 1999 when I got woken up from sleep by one. It was at the base of my skull, about an inch to the left of the bottom of my left ear. I would get these periodically, in the exact same place every time and was put on Isometh/Midrin and then later was given a stronger migraine medication which I didn't want to take unless absolutely necessary, which I never had to. For the last 3 days I have had this same headache and was taking aspirin but that didn't work, so yesterday I took 2 of my Isometh and took it away for about 4 hours, then it came back. I don't want to continue to take the Isometh everyday because the information on the medication says that if you take this medication often it can bring on headaches. I only take it when I cannot stand the pain, but it hasn't been excruciating. When I tilt my head back it hurts in that area as well as when I clear my throat and when I turn my head to the left. I notice they seem to come on in the morning shortly after I get up. I started juicing on a raw food diet 3 weeks ago and got a different kind of headache on the right side of my forehead about a half inch above my right eyebrow, but those went away after my body started to get used to the diet. My juicer broke and I got a blender that uses all of the fruit and vegetables and I wonder if using all of the produce, instead of just the juice before (without all of the pulp), could be causing these, maybe I'm not cleaning the produce well enough. I can't afford to buy organic as I am unemployed. I'm grasping at anything that could be a cause. I noticed after I ate a lot of protein at dinner last night, that the headache went away for awhile. Could I be suffering from protein/vitamin deficiency? Has anyone experienced these type of headaches?
