I have recently been put on simvastatin and asasantin. My cholesterol has been high for years, so the simvastatin seems good, and I assume I will take it nw for the duration. I am less sure about the role of asasantin, and whether that is a premanent fixture. I know it is intended to thin the blood, although my blood clotting test (Thrombophilia?) was fine.

What sort of monitorring should be done with these two drugs? The doctor who prescribed them is not intending to see me again, so I imagine I will have to go back to the GP for any follow-up.
