As far back as I can remember I have had to clear my throat at least once every 3 - 5 minutes, it always feel like I have mucus at the back of my throat that sits there and cannot be moved no matter what. I mentioned it to my former family doctor who did'nt really do anything but I never think of it with my current family doctor for some reason, I guess because it is just a part of me which seems 'normal' cause I have had it for so long. Anyone have an idea what can cause a constant throat clearing and that mucus feeling?
Thanks

Sounds like a post nasal drip. I have it too and don't think much about it since I've had it for so long.

My mother has just recently got this started in late march after drinking from the school fountain and eating a left over buffet salad there. She does not know how to expell it. Is it some sort of bacteria like TB or the one that causes CF?
I have a type of acid reflux (GERD) that affects my trachea and I've been clearing my throat since last November. I'm on heavy meds for GERD, but it hasn't helped that much. I'm going in for allergy tests on Friday. So, maybe your problem is GERD? From what I've been told, you don't need to have heartburn to have reflux problems, especially when they cause problems with your windpipe and lungs.
