I know Fibro causes alot of odd symptoms, I was just wondering if anyone else has a feeling of tightness in thier forarms. I will have a feeling as if I have pumped up my arms with wieghts and it feels tight. The muscle in my forearm. It usually gets this way if I hold my arm up for to long or if I over use it. It's not a lot of pain more of a tight muscle feeling. I know fibro affects our muscles. I was just wondering if anyone other than myself feels this. It's scary figuring out all the symptoms. I never knew that this stuff would affect so much of your body. I have head to toe symptoms. Just curious. Thanks in advance. Vicki

Vicky I used to have that off and on for many years. The muscle in my forearm would actually contract and it would stay that way - almost like a charlie horse that you get in your calves. Used to scare the heck out of me - I told my neuro and he just chalked it up to the fibro - ??? MaryAnn

I have that in my left forearm. I will have the tightness for a day or so and sometimes I then have visible spasming. The spasming is not painful. Just more of a annoyance than anything.

My first annoyance of FMS was the fact that my muscles in my upper and fore arms would not change tension when I went from extended to bent and they ached continuously. I would feel them as I flexed and relaxed and they felt the same all the time. It certainly made me feel that there is some neurological basis to fibro.

I also have much more pain in upper extremities when I do anything overhead or with arms extended. However, I have vertebrae involved so it may not be totally the fibro causing this. I know that simple tasks of drying and styling hair, putting on makeup. etc can cause the pain and tension in the upper arms to intesify. just my observations.
