Hi, I just got the result of my vaginal swab and it stated that i have heavy growth of Candida glabrata which is less sensitive to usual treatment (the normal organism is Candida albicans) My GP gave me a single dose of flucanazole to see whether it is effective or not and I think it did nothing at all. I'm so worried right now since i'm approaching my menstrual period in a few days. What should i do?

Is there any cream OTC out there for this bugs? I dont want the cream or tablets that need to be put up high into the vagina/cervix coz i will be having my mense! Nystatin cream or anything else?
Help me!

I have that too. Nothing over the counter in terms of creams that I know of, but some people have said that they have been helped by other stuff...boric acid, garlic, grapefruit seed extract.

Thanks for the reply Alexis..now i'm having my menstrual period and i'm worried if it gonna become worse. Is it possible for the thrush to go away without treatment? Btw, I will try to make an appointment with the doctor soon...

I don't know. I don't think so. I want to say that if there is an overgrowth that they just continue to grow unless you change something.
