The doctor is running even more blood tests on me to try and figure out what's wrong, but I've complained enough about my symptoms that they referred me to an Orthopedics doctor. I have no clue why this is the doctor they recommended I go to!!! I thought I needed to go the a rheumatologist? Has anyone here ever gone to orthopedics for their symptoms??

Hi Ready-
the only experience I had was just before I went to my rheumatologist for the 1st time I had to go to my orthopedist cause I hurt my back. I had to remind HIM that he couldn't give me cortisone as it would affect my tests and he tried to keep me on hydrocodone for a month and go the PT 3x wk for 6 wks. Turned out that this was all lupus- stuff.
I don't think they have the experience with lupus and the multi-focus that the rheumatologist has. Bear in mind, tho, that this is not only just my limited experience and my very narrow opinion. :-) Take this with a grain of salt.Hey, if the insurance ' ll pay- maybe go with the flow as long as they don't get to far afield.
