Hi,

I was talking to my dad yesturday and he was telling me that when he doesn't get a good night sleep he has been waking up in the morning with soreness and some muscle pain. Could he be developing Fibro too? I know If I don't get a good sleep Im a mess in the moring with the pain.

Is Fibro hereditary?

More women than men get fibro.

It is most likely arthritis that is showing up in your dad.

The medical community does not know what causes fibro.

There is some tendency of fibro to run in families, but no strong evidence it is hereditary.

Just about everybody will ache if they don't sleep well, in fact some researchers believe that an inability to sleep deeply and heal is a cause of fibro.

I agree with Misty that arthritis is more likely, but if his symptoms worsen to the point of causing major problems for him, and it doesn't appear to be arthritis, it might be worth considering fibro as a cause.

Hi, I think he should see a doctor to make sure all is fine. They might give him something to sleep better or for his pain. How old is he?
