I'm going insane w/ night/day sweats followed by chills....If I wear warm shirt I sweat, if I wear t-shirts I freeze, there is no happy medium..Not to mention some of the longer sleeve shirts actually cause pain as they touch my body....I know weird..It's more like an uncomfortable pain...Its like having tiny needles through out the body.....I just hate the sweats/chills....I am presently on "synthroid" due to low-thyroid and recently had my levels drawn and they said all is fine, and I take "Black Cohosh" to help w/ the sweats/chills and obviously as you can see NOTHING is helping.....I have other health issues as I have posted on some of my posts, but if this is connected to menopause at 44 what can I take to help deal w/ this...It is truly driving me insane..I can't just wear anything except for loose baggy jammy bottoms and big t-shirts and a housecoat or sweater close by...but when you sweating and freezing at the same time how to counter act that one..HELP!...Besides I would look a little funny out in public in my jammies...LOL

Hi Dolejaly,

By the way, I used to live in Fenton MI, you know where that is? I am living in Delray Beach, FL now.

Anyhow, there are many people out there that are suffering from the same things you are. It usually has something to do with a hormonal imbalance. It could be that it is perimenopause or menopause. The symptoms of a hormonal imbalance for woman are; hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, weight gain, moood swings fatigue etc. You may want to do some research, but there are specialized physicians out there that do treat that those type of imbalances. My personal opinion, synthetic hormones treat a "general" person. Bioidentical hormones are those that are just for you and are the same ones you produce in your body. My mom has gone through menopause, and believe me, it was not a pretty sight to see when she would go through these symptoms. It as so sad to see her go through this but when my mom's company ran into a financial crisis in MI we would offer to pitch in some money just for her to stay on her meds and pills. My whole family and I rave about the difference bioidentical hormones do for us as a family.

Hope this helps!

Thank You for responding.....I wish there was something out there that if it is menopause that would help all these symptoms.....and yes, I do know where Fenten is, I use to know a girl that lived there years and years ago.....

HI Dolejaly! I am going through the same thing!!! I am 44 and I feel like I am going through hell with these symptoms. It is so frustrating. I seem to have all the perimenopause symptoms. UGH! I am waiting for my saliva test results. I had them sent to a lab and the pharmacist is going to make me some biodentical hormones. I hope and pray to God they help me out! I am so miserable. I am sorry you are miserable too. Why do some gals hardly feel this and others of us is completely disrupts our lives? I just don't get it. My mom said she hardly remembers her change being as bad as mine and then she said...that she suddenly remembers taking some HRT meds. Well heck I am sure that made a difference! I have been going it alone with nothing! I am just suffereing...trying to eat right and exercise and take vitamins and things from the healthfood store. I still need something more that will target my symptoms.

Hang in there! Here to chat anytime!

I just wish there was a magic pill to make it all go away..It really sucks when I get all cleaned up to go out and just before walking out the door I break out into a sweat and my hair just looks as if I got out of the shower, or when you can't find that just right comfortable outfit...GRRRRRRRRRRR...so frustrating......I've been dealing w/ such things since my early 30's but just the past 2 yrs it has gotten way out of control......Wheres the magic pill?....hahahahahaaha

i too am 44 and have been having night sweats & hot flashes. women have had success with Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother in it--avail at Whole foods, Trader Joe's and the like) as a means to subdue hot flashes. I tried it and can verify that it has helped a lot! 2 TBS in 16oz of water. i dont mind the taste--for me it beats the alternative. I have also been using it for my dog to help with his itchy feet, just a spritz on his mits and no more chewing/itching--my pup finally has relief! :)
