Hi Everyone,
Here goes, for the past 11 months my periods changed from a very normal cycle - every 4 weeks for 5 days. Then it started with one very long period which lasted 4 weeks. The doctor gave me medication to reduce the blood loss and then to stop the blood loss. However, my body finally stopped bleeding after 4 weeks. The past 10 months have ranged from bleeding every 2 weeks to 4 weeks. The past 3 months I have bled for about a week, and passing small black blood clots. Now the blood clots are bright red, about the length of my finger and are rubbery (not like the black ones). The bleeding seems to subside late afternoon, but then comes back with force during the night. The tampax seems to just slide out and I'm having to change it at least twice during the night.
I'm so tired and it's getting me down emotionally. The doctor put me on the mini pill to try and balance my hormones, but after 3 months it's no different.
Any help would be gratefully received.

It sound like it is time for a D&C. Why has this doctor not performed an ultasound examination on you. You can not continue to live like this. Is there any chance that you can see another doctor? I am unfamiliar with the health network in the UK, but you definately need to get someone to take this situation seriously. Go to an emergency room if you have too.
Let us know how you are doing.

I'm going to the doctors next week, hopefully when the bleeding stops. I keep hoping the next month will be ok and that the pill would "put me right", but I think enough is enough. I'm off to Florida in 3 weeks and instead of looking forward to it, i'm dreading it! I'll see what the doctor recommends next week!
