The best way is to get tested.. ask for an IgG type specific blood test.. but if you think you may have been exposed within the past 4 months the test may not detect it at that point in time I would suggest you wait 3-4 months to be retested (or at least 4 months from exposure) so that your body has enough time to build up antibodies.
Another way to tell is if you have lesions/open sores below .. or symptoms similar to a yeast infection can also be herpes...
But like I mentioned best way is to go to the doctor.:)
