hi my name is carrie and im 7 months pregnant, i just found out that i had herpes about a couple days ago and my doctor prescribed me valtrez 500mg once daily but he never did tell what type was it and i just wanna know, by me having herpes did it affect my baby or will it during childbirth

You can ask for another test if they didn't type it.. Ask for an IgG type specific test.. How were you diagnosed?

Also your baby is going to be fine.. the valtrex is normally a precautionary measure during the last month of the pregancy to try to prevent an outbreak so that they baby doesn't get it.. but if you are having an OB then a C-Section will be the way to go. I have heard many many stories where woman have natural childbirth ..so I think you and baby will be fine:)
