If an infant is deliveried Vaginally and the mother is having an OB during delivery this would cause the infection. Herpes is not passed through the blood and would not be passed from mother to chiild during pregnancy, or from Father to child during conception..Herpes is NOT a Blood Born Virus, it is passed though skin to skin contact with an infected person. I would consult a pediatrican for more information on the topic.
