Does it feel like water dripping?
How long did it last?

Yes i have had that feeling before and so has my husband...in both cases it was side effects from medications.

Hi, it lasted about one minute. It was like something was running under my scalp, like a bunch of bugs or something. It was real weird. Very freaky!

I started to take flexerill about a week or two ago. But this was the first time it happened,

Maybe look up side effects of your meds. Also- vitamin deficiencies.

I've had that sensation off and on for a long time. I've gotten it in the middle of the night, like my scalp has fallen to sleep and has the pins and needles feeling coming back to life. It really does feel like a bunch of bugs scurrying around on my scalp. I've also gotten the feeling during my waking hours. I know I've been on other msg boards where others have described this as a symptom of their fibro. I'm not sure what causes it, but I have had surgery to fuse 2 levels in my neck because of disc herniations. I still have disc problems in my neck, but I don't get the feeling as much since my surgery 2 years ago. Do you have any neck problems?

I don't know if this my neck giving me th eproblems or shouders. I have a lot of shoulder issures also. My neck and shoulders are very stiff the last few days. Could be a link. Thanks for your imput. yes I have it, and alot of MS patients get it. So I am assuming it is just another one of those weird SX we get.

I did not have it until I had all the other sx's it was one of my first sx's in 03

I have this too. Crawling, tingling, tightness, sore to touch, numbness, burning, all of these alone or in combo. I also have trigeminal neuralgia, small fiber neuropathy, spinal arthritis and fibro. I have never gotten a (this is what this is) answer from neurologist, just this could be from (fill in the blank as of today) kind of answer. I have had all the vit. def. tests and all are ok. I have brought up could this be side effect of meds. and have been told no. I just quit lyrica after over a year, 30 lb. weight gain and the med just not helping anymore, which is pretty typical that it stops working. I do take tegratol for the trigeminal and believe me it helps me alot. I do not ever accept the blame it on fibro answer from the docs. But I also realize they just don't have all the answers either. I have a really honest open relationship with my neuro. she doesn't try to make me think she knows more than she does because she trusts that I know she does everything for me that she can. Sometimes the conditions like neuropathy, fibro, neuralgias, myalgias, myofacial, and arthralgias just get so compound and over-lapping that there is very little medically that can be done since so many of the treatments are contra-indicated for one of the other conditions. Its a vicious cycle and a daily challenge. I am at the point now where I am focusing my energy on coping with chronic pain. I have probabley every test there is to diagnose, blood tests, mri's many, sleep study, emg's, lumbar puncture, cat scans more blood tests and more. I looked for that really great med, or that combo of meds. I tried that great nutritional approach, I tried those vitamins, and those herbs. I tried and tried and tried. Now, I'm trying to cope. I have a really good psychologist who specializes in chronic illness and pain and maybe I'm not as angry anymore. Maybe I don't feel anybetter but I can cope better and can get more done when I can. I know, your not supposed to give in, but how much time and thousands of dollars have I wasted looking for that one reason, that one thing that one diagnosis that is going to make this stop? I'm tired of it, I just want to learn to live that best I can with what I've got. I stick with my docs and know that if anything new comes along that they think will help, they'll tell me.

YES! My scalp tingles, itches and feels crawly at times. Also someone mentioned that it feels like it's fallen asleep, I have had that too! Good to know that others have these quirky things too. :)

The scalp crawling thing started again. I don't think it is the Flexeril, It happens about 18 hours after I take it. I just read out there on the net that some people think it happens when the weather changes as in barometric pressure. It is a thought. I'll try to keep track of that one, it will go along with the aching.
