I am 16 days post-lasik. I was nearsighted with astigmatism prior to my lasik operation. On the plus side, I’ve not experienced halos, starbursts, or any pain. As in my previous post “Lasik Surgery on April 3rd” at my 1 week appt my dr told me I was showing some overcorrection (towards farsightedness), and I was noticing that nearer objects were blurry; such as sitting across the table from my husband, I couldn’t focus in on his face, etc. I expect, at my age, to use reading glasses for computer and reading, but was really hoping my sight would improve a little more.
Anyways, I have a Facemaster, and before you all sigh “what a waste of money” (as my husband does everytime he sees it ;) I started using it around my eyes, on the gentle setting. My idea was perhaps if I could get these little eye muscles moving, it would bring some blood to the area to help with healing, and the blood might help carry toxins away - basically the same premise when working with larger muscles. Okay, today is day 3 and I’ve used it 3 times and it seems that after using it, my focus ability is better. Is it helping, or wishful thinking, or would my eyes be improving even if I wasn’t using it? I don’t know, but I thought I’d see what others might think!

One thing I noticed is that my eyesight is always poorest when I wake and becomes better as the day progresses. When I use the Facemaster when I wake up, my vision clears out within 10 or 15 mins after! My eyes had a lot of redness/bruising from the microkeratome and I (and my husband) have noticed they are fading quickly now and are looking whiter again, so I'm thinking the blood flow might be helping to heal.

What is a facemaster?
I am taking Vitamin C and flaxseed oil (oil is supposed to help with eye dryness) to help heal my eyes...I'm having them redone on the 30th.

A facemaster is a battery-operated machine that provides stimulation to facial muscles, to help with firmness and toning on the face. If you're interested, you can google it and you'll find all kinds of info.
I also take a multivitamin, extra Vit. E. and use flaxseed on my yogourt, cereal, etc.

Its just wishful thinking. At 16 days post-op, you are in the steep curve of healing so your eyes will continue to improve with or w/o the facemaster. But hey, if using it makes you feel better, why not?

Yes, I was wondering if it was wishful thinking too. Either way my eyes are feeling and looking better, hopefully it just gets better each day.
