What is it when your muscle pulls up & down involuntary, is it a twitch?
First time it occurred was in my back near where the pain is I always have there. No big deal. But last night it happened again in my butt cheek & I went numb there.
And I know it's normal if your laying on a muscle & it goes numb, but within 5 minutes of laying on my left or right side (in bed), my side would go numb, I'd flip over to the other side then it would just go numb. I've never had that occur so frequently. Annoying!

So it is some type of twitching when your muscles are jumping up & down?
What a weird thing to happen esp in the butt. LOL.
I'll try some pinapple juice, my sister swares it helps fatigue anyways. I need all the help I can get.

lol. it really doesn't hurt or anything. not even that annoying. it doesn't last really long but it makes me question WHAT THE ____ ____ ____ is wrong..
I would think fresh pinnapple would work just as well as the juice. I don't see why it wouldn't. She buys the little cans of the juice and claims it really gives her a boost when needed. However I am on a constant 24-7 need there and I don't know if it would help my fatigue, but I'm going to try it anyways. For both of these problems I guess.

Hey, it's worth a try. And fruit is tasty and good for you anyway.
Sometimes muscle twitching is related to a mineral deficiency.

I have major muscle twitching and body jerks and have to take Klonopin for them, every once in a while I will still have them, but it won't cause the constricting pain I get other wise

I think I heard magnesium is good for muscle problems. I haven't tried it though.

When you think you're going crazy, it really helps to hear that someone has experienced the same symptoms. Thanks for posting this.....
Several weeks ago I had numbness on the right side of my face. Since then I've had twitches in my neck and under my lower lip.
I thank you all for sharing your stories and experiences, it really helps...
BTW: I'm also wondering if anyone gets feelings of being really HOT!!!! I'm not running a temp, yet I feel like I'm burning up inside. I'm usually freezing my butt off, but I go through these HOT phases...
OK, no jokes about male menopause! I've already heard that from my Doctor! :0)

The answer is magnesium. Never have them anymore since supplementing with magnesium citrate, chloride, or aspartate. Get your blood sugars checked for the sweating many fibromyalgia patients are hypoglycemic or have other blood sugar problems. Does it occur after eating, if so it is probably related to blood sugar.

Thanks for the advice. I'll pick some up today...
After eating: Funny you mentioned that. Yes, I seem to have weird reactions, at times, right after eating. I may start sweating or feel totally spaced out. I've sort of always suspected that I dip in my blood sugar. I have been tested, but it was normal. But, in my opinion, I think it's a transient type of thing. I may be normal when they test, but have abnormal levels when they are not around to test me.
Thanks again,
Jimm

Saugus...no problem..you are not alone !! I have been dealing with some numbness/tingling issues on and off. Back of my head and fingers. My doc wants me to have an MRI done. Just to rule out some stuff. Not sure what a bit nervous on that. I have issues with my neck. Im hoping its JUST the Fibro.
Ive been twitching today. Im talking to a freind and you actualy see my right uppoer arm muscles twitch like a tick or something.. Like it beating ..OMG ANNOYING
I also agree with Fibrosmart...get your bloods checked. My Rhumy sends me for bloods every 2 months.

Are you allowed to mention specific products on here, get this if possible. I guess I will see, Natural Calm Peter Gillhams on the internet, magnesium citrate works wonders. Helps with muscle pain, insomnia, is amazing. Don't get magnesium oxide, the cheapest and most common that they sell, it does nothing so I don't want you to waste your money.

Also should have said my blood sugars were normal too, but I definitely had hypo, now I have diabetes. Paradoxically low blood sugar can be a first sign of diabetes. If your hands and feet are going numb too it could very possibly be this. If you feel like you are drunk after eating sugar, again this. Treat yourself as if you do have hypo, try to get your blood sugars stabilized, stay away from sugar and white flour and anything that will give you a spike and see if this helps. Get the trans fats out of your diet, they are making your cells insulin resistant, eat only good oils and Omega 3's. It could take anywhere from two to six weeks to get your blood sugars normalized so be patient.
I could have saved myself a lot of nerve damage if I (and the doctors) I might add had not attributed these symptoms to fibro, I could have also possibly prevented getting diabetes if I had known but I lived with these symptoms for two years all the while thinking it was just the fibro. The sweating drove me crazy, I would be dripping with sweat and then I started to feel like I could fall asleep at dinner, that is when the diabetes started.
