how long does the virus survive outside the body? Ie: toilet seats, wet towels, clothes...ect. Paranoia is setting in due to new roommate that is not careful....

Herpes is not transmitted through inanimate objects, such as soap, towels, clothing, bed sheets, toilet seats, and spa surfaces. In the case of sharing soap, the herpes virus would be washed away by the soap before it would have the chance to infect someone else. One theoretically possible, but highly unlikely, scenario is contracting the herpes virus from a damp towel. This could happen if an infected person rubs off a good amount of the virus onto a damp towel that is immediately used by an uninfected person, who then wipes it against his or her mucous membranes.:):)

thanks, Angeleyes....new question for you. Have you ever heard of someone that was diagnosed with herpes...broke out about every three months for about a year, and now has not broke out for a year and a half?:confused: but :p

Yes, it is not uncommon when you first come down with the virus to have often OB's then as time goes on they become less often, sometimes depending on the person they will only have one and Never have another, rare but it happens...
