I have had it for years but recently it has gotten worse. At one point it was around my eyes and near the corners of my mouth. (could have been something different) It gets really red and the skin gets tight especially after a shower. Hydrocortisone creme relieves the tightness for a short while.
Before I found out to use Hydrocortisone creme on the internet often times it would crack and bleed. Apart from the tightness there is normally no pain involved.
It seems to get acne or is an acne hotspot.
Is this excema?
I am 19 years old.
I have found nothing that works except for the very temporary relief that comes from the hydrocortisone. I have recently begun taking vitamin E to help it as well (online suggestion)
I often times find myself not getting in family photos or letting people get pictures with me because it shows up so red on film.
Any help is GREATLY Appreciated!!

i would wash face with spring water. It could be your tap water.. that happened to me. my face would get red, burned looking and around mouth..itchy flakey eyelids.. for two years then i tried spring water and it improved. Noticed it does it around mouth if i brush my teeth with tap water. i have very hard water and have gotten sensitive to it.

I have been dealing with red, swollen, itchy, flaky, eyelids for a couple months now. Went to dermatol., who of course prescribed hydrocortisone ointment. Got some relief, but not much. Then changed all make-up and brushes. Cleared up for a couple days, then came back raging. It was depressing. Then I prayed, and asked God to show me what it is..you know, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack! A day or two later, I was telling a friend about my eye problem (it was obvious, at least to me). She said, "honey, you are eating something you shouldn't be...are you eating strawberries?" YES...I make fresh smoothies, eat them fresh, on and on. They're in season in January (Florida strawberries), then later from California. I have since cut out strawberries, and am ecstatic to report that it is disappearing! Never had a problem with strawberries before! Incidentally, my mother had the same eye problem, only 10 times worse. She cut out all berries just to be sure, and she is clearing up as well. Whatever you do...don't keep using cortisone ointments. You will permanently damage that tender skin around your eyes! Good luck and God Bless!
