Since my blood pressure shot through the roof last Feb, Nothing the doc gives me seems to work for more than a week. Each tab brings it down, then hey presto, it creeps up again. Today it's 190/103, some one please tell me they've been higher than that with no ill effects. I don't see doc again till next wed.

My b/p was over 200 for months but I do have a good family history of tolerating high blood pressure without ill effects. Fam

I do regular exercise. my pulse is usually about 68 or less. I worry because there is a history of strokes in my family.

My father had HBP since early thirties. The last 10 years before his stroke it had been uncontrolled hypertension. He never took his meds, he said they were too expensive. His BP was 200+ over 120-130 for as long as I can remember. After 10 years of ignoring his BP he had a mild stroke at 52. I think prolonged hypertension is the problem more so than short term spikes.
