I want to quit smoking so bad but I really don't know how to do it. At the current time, I'm cutting down on the amount of cigarettes I smoke in a day but throught out the whole day, I feel like I can't breath. I have to keep on take big breaths, is this normal? Am I getting the withdrawal symptons already?

Can someone please advise me of any good candy, herb supplement to stop smoking? I don't want to take any medications.

Thank you so much

Just sounds like your already stressing on the idea of quitting ang having a bit of a panic attack. This is pretty common.

Read Allan Carr's EasyWay to Quit Smoking. It seems to work. I've been reading it and feel very much at ease. I stopped smoking in March of this year and was having some anxiety. One day pretty bad. I got the book at the library and it really does seem to work. At least for me it has been. I stopped cold turkey. Which I hear is the best way because we are nicotine addicts. You don't treat a heroin addict by giving them heroin. Same with any drug addiction. The only difference is that cigarettes are legal.

First, GOOD LUCK. It is no easy task. I have been smoking for 30 plus years and for the last 2 years 3 packs a day. I recently lost a brother in law to lung cancer. That scared the crap out of me. The day he died I made up my mind that I would quit and for real this time. I tried unsuccessfully many times actually they were, all but one, half hearted attempts. This time was my time and I knew it. I had my last cigarette on March 31st at 9:15PM. I have not had one puff since. I aslo have had very mild and very infrequent cravings. I chose to take Chantix. So far I have no ill effects. I am hoping that I dont get any after I stop taking them as well. Be strong..... life is already way too short dont make it any shorter. Again I wish you much success and luck.

I smoked 3 packs a day for over 30 years....and quit smoking with the help of Nocoderm CQ patches....no stress, no anxiety....but took me over a year.

I wore the patches for over a year before I no longer had the urge to smoke...but eventually was able to ignore the small urges to smoke and successfully quit. Has been about 5 years since I've smoked.

I strongly urge you to quit...regardless of what it takes...you must quit for you own best interest. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer and after two surgeries, and months of chemo & radiation treatments, I continue to fight the disease.

I wish you well in your journey....
