For the past few years I've experienced headaches, almost on a daily basis. Recently the headache has been continuous - accompanied by a constant ringing noise, pulses a little with heart beat, in my ears. I am also sensitive to loud noises. I have been to see a Neurologist and had an MRI but it has not yielded anything but "you're having stress headaches". He sent me to PT and they've told me I have Forward Head Posture and are administering some posture exercises, which seem to make matters worse. I'm at my wits end - any help/hope for me?

What are you taking for your headaches? Sometimes the meds you take for the headache will cause a ringing in the ears. I get a lot of headaches from having bulging disc in my cervical neck, when I have taken a lot of ibuprofen, my ears will ring.

Sunny, thanks so much for the response.
Yes I am taking ibuprofen for the headaches - but I experience the ringing even before taking them. I have a continuous ring in my ears and gets louder as the headaches increase, with or without them.

I suggest trying to lay off the ibuprofen for a while, maybe you can try something else at least for a week and se if the ringing stops.

Great idea, I'll try a different type of pain reliever for a while to see if it helps.
Again,
Thank you.

Welcome to the club Itarr. I have suffered from so called "stress" or tension headaches plus tinnitus (ringing in the ears) for the last 3-4 years. No idea what started it and no idea how to stop it. Pain killers help a bit as does 10mg of amatriptoline at night, but nothing gets rid of the squeezing feeling which I have 24/7.
I have done plenty of research on the net which has led me to this site. There are a few miracle cure sites (one of which I tried and wasted my $) and plenty that acknowledge the problem (Chronic Dailiy Headaches is latest name), but I havent found any genuine independent sufferers who have found a permanent solution. I am hoping its because those that found a fix dont continue to read these sites!
Any suggestions appreciated as I am sure they would be by Itarr!

KN,
Thank you for the information. I have also been researching but have not discovered anything that looks to be the answer. Many types of Doctors and providers cover the topic, (Chiros, Phy Ther, Neuros), but do not present any clear remedies. I just went to a leading Ortho and will be going in for an MRI next week. This guy works on many athletes and has a great reputation. Hopefully, and I pray, it will lead us to something that can help. He gave me some muscle relaxers today thinking that the muscle spasms are contributing to the problem. I'll take anything at thip point - I am tired of the continuous headaches and the ringing in my ears!!
I will post if anything comes of all this. Good luck to you - I know how you feel....

Where are your headaches? Was your MRI with dye to monitor CSF flow?

Beach,
Thank you,
The headaches are between the temples, behind my eyes, sometimes condensing to an area between the eyes. No they did not do the CFS flow monitoring? What is CFS?
I have since had an MRI for my neck and will be going back to the Ortho next week to find out if they discovered anything there that could cause the symptoms. I have also been having muscle spasms in the neck region and he gave me some muscle relaxers to use in the meantime, not really any help overall though.
