Has anyone here been told by their Dr. not to eat red meat because its bad for high cholestrol? I can't seem to go without beef:

The fat from red meat (particularly beef) tends to be high in saturated fat, which is generally considered bad for blood cholesterol problems due to raising LDL cholesterol. Note that milk fat is also high in saturated fat.
If you must have your beef but want to follow your doctor's recommendations, eat the leanest beef you can.

We rarely eat read meat, but lately we've been buying this super lean ground beef (7% fat). It has less fat than many forms of turkey or chicken and makes a great burger. We still eat mostly boneless chicken breasts and fish, but the lean ground beef is a nice treat and you won't feel like you've blown your whole diet.
