I have read only a few posts here. I am surprized there aren't more as skin cancer is on the increase.

I looked at pictures on the internet because I have a suspicious looking area about the size of a dime between the bra strap and arm socket area on my back (shoulder). So it is hard to get a good look at it, plus my vision could be better for close ups. I guess I have put off showing my husband due to other health issues I battle with. I have a dr. appointment tommorrow.

Within the scaly red area is a dark scaly patch, yes, about the size of a pencil eraser. Does area of measurement include scaly red area or just the dark area with black shiny dot in it? This area used to be an irregular mole of medium brown shade but solid in pigment, and has changed within the last 6 weeks. It seems strange to me to see such a big difference in such a short time.

I guess I am wondering what else this could be and would appreciate some experienced help. Please be as graphically honest as you think is permissable. I am worried and I hope my dr. is forthcoming about his initial reaction.
